To complement institutional research, the SWEAT Foundation also activated the SWEAT DAO community, conducting one of the largest surveys of its kind. Over 100,000 users across 114 countries were asked a fundamental question:
“What is an active day worth to you?”
Their answers ranged from $0.52 to $9.50 per day. From bustling cities like Tokyo to small towns in Canada, the message was clear: movement matters. Being more than “just another survey”, it was proof that you’ve always felt the worth of your steps, demonstrating a universal human recognition of movement’s inherent value.
These numbers echo the academic data, showing movement’s value is a global truth. People know it instinctively, and we’ve quantified it. This crowdsourced wisdom drives $SWEAT, helping to shape rewards, guide DAO decisions, and set benchmarks for partnerships with employers and insurers. This is not only a data point, it’s a worldwide signal that the Movement Economy is here to stay.
This bottom-up valuation reinforces what top-down research has shown: movement is deeply perceived as an economic asset, not only by institutions and researchers but by everyday people who experience its benefits firsthand.
